Disturbed1117 say : I believe it is because soccer is boring and overly complicated. In Football you play in to overtime until one team wins, in soccer you can't do that obviously. Another thing is football is American and we are very proud of the things we create and are less likely to like things made by foreign countries.

pat in the hat say : First of all a small precent of american footballers are overweight that is just some defensive line men and the offensive line. most are very big and strong because the high degree of physical contact. and are soccer(football) culture is growing rapidly and it has been since id say 2000 but in the last two years its growing like crazy more ppl are caring and watching soccer(football) consistently. As a nation we are moving in the right direction. I can go more in detail but I dont want to bore you.

Seriously, I didn't know so many people outside the US cared so much what we like, what we don't like and why. Does it REALLY keep you from sleeping why your game does it become popular here? If so, you must lead quite the boring life. We don't care if you like or don't like our sports and we certainly don't try to force it down your throats. BeautifulLife say : I am American, but I have something to say about that statement. While, possibly, your friends who are American don't really appreciate football, I live in a place that practically eats, sleeps, breathes, and pees football. I don't mean American football, but what Americans call soccer. Plus, it takes what has happened in the World Cup to really establish something. For once, since 1933, we actually came out on TOP of our group. While it was upsetting to watch USA lose to Ghana, the emotions that came from Donovan's last goal drew people into the game. It's like with Michael Phelps and his 8 gold medals which revolutionized swimming in my country, the World Cup is bringing about more and more footballers.
